Dara Khaalid

Dara Khaalid is an Emmy-Nominated Journalist who’s been in the television industry for nearly seven years. She’s currently a Producer/Reporter at WTVI PBS Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she’s been since 2023. Before coming to the Queen City, Dara worked for over four years at WACH FOX 57 in Columbia, South Carolina. While there, she was promoted several times and served as an Evening Anchor, Newscast Producer, Breaking News Anchor/Traffic MMJ, Multimedia Journalist, and Digital Content Producer. Dara graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina in 2019 and shortly after, became a Southeast Region Finalist for “Best TV Breaking News Reporting” by the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). Since then, Dara’s earned two additional awards from SPJ and two regional Emmy nominations. Here’s a sampling of her work at WTVI PBS Charlotte and WACH FOX 57.   

In 2026, she knew it was time to create her two companies, Food & Freedom Media and World Stories Media, so she could combine three things that bring her joy. Traveling the globe, telling incredible stories, and having the freedom to fully be herself!
